Description
In this stunning little novel we live vicariously through the pages of misfit fencer, Daisy Black's diary. Follow a portion of her gritty life's path from the renaissance fair circuit to her home in a dusty Texan trailer park; and enjoy her love/hate relationships between culture and the gutter. A stroke of luck lands her a job as a fencing instructor at an exclusive school in New England. There she experiences culture shock and a reinforcement of her feelings of alienation. Explore all this and many indecent belligerences in White Trash Journals, A True Farce.
About the author: Daisy Black is in essence a free spirit. From the beginning of her adulthood she has spent her time between Cleveland, Los Angeles, El Paso and New York City. During these years she has supported herself as a waitress, maid, student, panhandler, factory worker, welfare recipient, touring merchandiser, campaign worker, background actor and fencing instructor. Her middle adulthood was comfortably spent as a sort of punk rock Martha Stewart housewife. At this time gardening, crocheting, cross-stitching, genealogy, reading, writing and fencing were her hobbies. Since then she's spent several years loving her work at a retail shop as a bookseller and fencing coach. After being bored and tied down with steady work and missing her older, freer lifestyle she became a hardcore traveler. Between multiple foreign adventures, mainly in Britain and Holland, she has had many psych ward stops. Currently when she's not concentrating on her writing, or avoiding psych ward visits; she is traveling extensively with a contraversial band and gambling to make ends meet. White Trash Journals is her first novel.
